Dohee Lee studied and trained in Korean traditional dance and percussion at the master level in Korea. Since her arrival in the U.S. she
has been a vital contributor to the traditional arts landscape of the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

from 2002 to 2008, resident artist and instructor at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center from 2008 to 2011, and has been a guest
instructor at San Francisco State University, Saint Mary’s College, U.C. Berkeley and Northern Illinois University.

Lee will focus on teaching Korean drumming, dance and music along with Korean shamanic history and culture.
Lee teaches weekend workshops and day–long workshops in the Bay Area and other locations. Occasionally, she will also teach conj-
unction with a performance in various places.

Goals:
- To teach the basic history of Korean traditional arts
- To practice basic foundations of Korean music and dance
- To share Korean cultural experiences

Singing Body Workshop
   
 

  • Voice Collage: Voice Exploration
  • Movement and Voice


Through breath and rhythm, we tune our body instrument and free our voices to explore sounds, songs and movement. Explore sound through Dohee Lee's expansive range of vocal techniques to create a mystical and universal language. This workshop expands participants' vocabularies with feelings, energies, memories and stories to create new art.

Goals:
- To find own powerful voice
- To balance with body and mind
- To reveal their own expression and personal view
- To develop own vocabulary and creativity
